💎 Hidden Gem: Bickley Hall Farm Nature Trail (near Malpas)

If you want proper rural Cheshire without the crowds, head to Bickley Hall Farm – a 210-acre organic working farm and the HQ of Cheshire Wildlife Trust. The best bit: there’s a dedicated nature trail that branches off the Sandstone Trail, so you get a real “mini-adventure” feel without needing to be a hardcore hiker.

Route options

Option A: The Nature Trail loop (easy win)
Do the dedicated nature trail and keep it relaxed – perfect for families or anyone who just wants countryside and quiet.

Option B: Nature Trail + “bonus miles” on the Sandstone Trail
Once you’ve done the trail, hop onto the Sandstone Trail for an out-and-back extension – you’ll get bigger views and that satisfying “we actually went for a proper walk” feeling.

Practical bits

  • Parking: yes (on-site per the Trust).

  • Dogs: allowed on a lead.

  • Grazing animals: yes – expect livestock and stick to paths.

  • Location: just outside Malpas (address commonly listed as SY14 8EF).
