When the festive calendar gets a bit loud, Lymm Dam is a lovely reset button. It’s peaceful, very family-friendly, and feels like a mini-escape without the long drive.
The woodland paths and the water views make it perfect for a slow winter stroll. If you time it right, you can pair it with a cosy café stop in the village after.
It’s also a great “one-hour adventure” for younger kids who want to be outdoors but won’t thank you for a full-on hike.
Practical bits
-
Start/parking: Lymm village parking, then short walk to the dam
-
Distance: Approx 1 mile loop
-
Time: Approx 45-60 mins
-
Grade: Easy
-
Terrain: Mostly flat woodland paths
That’s it for this week.
