Friends of Hadlow Road Station – Pop-up cafe (Celebrating 160th Anniversary)

Alongside our pop-up café, we are celebrating the 160th Anniversary of the line and station opening, we have music by Familiar Ground.

The Thomas Brassey Society (TBS) will have a stand highlighting the work done locally and worldwide by Thomas Brassey, railway engineer. A new poster will be unveiled by TBS and FHRS will have an information stand highlighting the work done by volunteers over the years to maintain and enhance the station.

Hadlow Road Station is a Grade II listed Heritage England station with a historical museum which has been restored to look as it did when the station was closed in 1956, now part of the Wirral Way, it is looked after by the Friends of Hadlow Road Station (FHRS).

FHRS run pop-up cafes on the platform twice a month, Sunday mornings 10am-1pm, cash only, serving bacon baps, teacakes, tea, coffee and cakes. All funds raised are put back into the station’s maintenance, restoration and development for all to enjoy.

There is a small free car park at the station, with further parking in the village. There is a separate private cafe, Station Masters House (SMH) for those looking for a wide variety menu which is open 7 days a week.
