SUMMARY:Bunbury  watermill
DESCRIPTION:Bunbury Watermill is a beautifully restored Watermill standing in 2 acres of wildly rich countryside. The mill was built around 1840 though there has been a mill on the site for at least 1000 years.  \n\n\n\nThe machinery is restored and in full working order. Visitors are taken on a guided tour of the working mill\, approximately 45 minutes long\, by our knowledgeable volunteers with hands-on experience of the processes involved. \n\n\n\nWe are open every Sunday from 1pm to 5pm\, last tour starts around 4pm. We are also available to organised groups\, (schools\, colleges\, and adult groups) by arrangement at other times.  \n\n\n\nWhy not finish your tour with a cuppa and a piece of cake by the pond or in the visitor center?

SUMMARY:Hooton Park Hangars Museum
DESCRIPTION:Hooton Park Hangars are open this Sunday. Great local museum with a large selection of aircraft and vehicles mostly connected to the site as former home to the RAF’s famous 610 ‘County of Chester Squadron.’  \n\n\n\nAircraft displayed include Spitfires\, Gloster Meteor\, De Havilland Vampire\, Gypsy Moth and many more. See our volunteers working on current projects through our sister charity ‘The Aeroplane Collection’ and the ongoing work from the ‘Griffin trust’ and the renovation of our Chester Tram.  \n\n\n\nThere is a free vintage bus shuttle service operating to and from Hooton station starting at 10am until closing at 4pm and runs approximately every 20 mins. We have a café on site selling hot and cold beverages\, cakes and basic snacks. Along with the aircraft museum we have a victorian printing museum an air raid experience in an original WW2 air raid shelter\, displays from Ellesmere Port model boat club and the local ham radio group.  \n\n\n\nWe are dog friendly! \n\n\n\nA great local museum displaying more aircraft each year\, some on loan from RAF Cosford. Open on the last Sunday of each month until October 10am-4pm. We are currently also open every Saturday 10am-4pm but without the Café\, bus shuttle or other attractions as a trial.  \n\n\n\nWe’re situated very handily just off Junction 6 of the M53 motorway in Hooton\, Cheshire.Airfield Way\, Ellesmere Port CH65 1BQ \n\n\n\nCome see us!

The Anderton Boat Lift team has an action-packed programme of hands-on activities for everyone to enjoy. \n\n\n\nKids Go FREE on the Edwin Clark trip boat\n\n\n\nFrom 19 July – 1 September only\, up to three children go FREE with each paying adult on our family-friendly river cruises along the River Weaver. Our boat crew brings the area’s fascinating history to life for younger audiences\, making it a fun and special experience for visitors of all ages. \n\n\n\nDrop-in Family Activity Days\n\n\n\nJoin us over the summer months for our drop-in activity sessions (£2.50 per child)\, with themed activities including: \n\n\n\n • Storytelling and games • Crazy Canal building challenges • Nature trails and creepy crawlies • Make-and-take arts and craftsChildren can also explore the waterways-themed play area and find their way through our unique counterweights maze\, while adults relax in our beautiful grounds with spectacular views of the iconic Anderton Boat Lift. \n\n\n\nOur Coffee Shop will be open throughout the summer\, serving delicious breakfasts and lunches including homemade pizzas\, sandwiches\, children’s picnic boxes\, as well as ice creams\, cakes and cold drinks.
