SUMMARY:From Venice to Cheshire: The Grand Tour Story behind Tatton Park's Library
DESCRIPTION:Step inside the hidden world of Tatton Park’s historic library and uncover the fascinating journeys behind its remarkable books. \n\n\n\nJoin PhD researcher Rachel Daley to discover how rare books from across Europe found their way to Tatton Park through the travels and ambitions of Samuel Hill and his nephew Samuel Egerton. From the canals of Venice to the libraries of England\, this talk explores the world of the eighteenth-century Grand Tour\, where books\, art\, and collecting became symbols of taste\, status\, and curiosity. \n\n\n\nThrough beautiful and rare items from the collection\, Rachel reveals the people\, stories\, and European influences that helped shape Tatton Park’s library into a window onto eighteenth-century culture and travel. \n\n\n\nPerfect for anyone interested in history\, books\, travel\, art\, or uncovering the hidden stories behind historic collections. \n\n\n\nThis event supports the fascinating ‘Beyond the View: Canaletto’ exhibition and your ticket includes entry to view this on the day of the talk. The event takes place in Lord Egerton’s Apartment\, overlooking Tatton Park’s award-winning gardens.

SUMMARY:Holding Light by Fallen Angels Dance Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Fallen Angels Dance Theatre \n\n\n\nFollowing the sold out première performance at the Royal Ballet and Opera\, Fallen Angels Dance Theatre brings its powerful new production\, Holding Light\, to Storyhouse Thursday 24 September 2026.     \n\n\n\nAt the heart of Fallen Angels is a powerful mission\, creating extraordinary dance theatre performed by artists with lived experience of addiction and mental health recovery. Their work brings raw\, authentic lived experience to the stage\, breaking down stigma and celebrating personal resilience through striking physical storytelling. \n\n\n\nCrafted over six months of collaboration between the dancers and creative team\, Holding Light explores light as both a dynamic partner on stage and a metaphor for recovery\, hope\, and personal awakening. The evening weaves together three distinct creative perspectives. Acclaimed choreographer Russell Maliphant brings his signature mastery of light and movement\, making illumination an active collaborator with the dancers. International dance artist Alice Godfrey offers a rich\, emotive exploration of body\, space\, and personal transformation\, while sound artist Feri Gyemant frames every movement with an immersive and emotionally charged soundscape. \n\n\n\nAuthentic\, moving\, and uplifting\, Holding Light invites audiences to witness stories that are often unseen\, offering a deeply memorable evening of dance\, hope and healing.
