SUMMARY:Friends of Hadlow Road Station - Heritage Signal Box open
DESCRIPTION:Hadlow Road Station special Sunday 13th September: as part of the Wirral History & Heritage Association Week\, as well as our usual pop-up café\, we have the signal box open (accessed via steps)\, music by Western Approaches and Mersey Morris will also be performing. It is also our second charity day for this year\, with funds going to Wirral St John’s Hospice. \n\n\n\nHadlow Road Station is a Grade II listed Heritage England station with a historical museum which has been restored to look as it did when the station was closed in 1956\, now part of the Wirral Way\, it is looked after by the Friends of Hadlow Road Station (FHRS). \n\n\n\nFHRS run pop-up cafes on the platform twice a month\, Sunday mornings 10am-1pm\, cash only\, serving bacon baps\, teacakes\, tea\, coffee and cakes. Food and drinks are served on our platform. All funds raised are put back into the station’s maintenance\, restoration and development for all to enjoy\, apart from two cafes per season that are designated as our Charity Cafes\, from which the named charities receive all surplus money from the café and any that they raise via charity buckets\, etc. \n\n\n\nPostcode for the station is CH64 2UQ and the address is Hadlow Road\, Willaston\, Wirral.  \n\n\n\nThere is a small free car park at the station\, with further parking in the village. There is a separate private cafe\, Station Masters House (SMH) for those looking for a wide variety menu which is open 7 days a week.

SUMMARY:Kelsborrow Choir Milestone Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Founded in 1956\, the choir takes its name from Kelsborrow Hill\, a well-known landmark in the village of Kelsall. Originally formed by parents from the local primary school to support PTA events and fundraising activities\, the choir has grown far from its beginnings. Comprising around 50 mixed voices\, the choir performs regularly locally and has also performed internationally. We regularly present concert and events to support mainly local charities.  \n\n\n\n2026 is our 70th anniversary year. The choir will mark this special milestone at the church of St John The Baptist in Chester on Saturday 12th September at 7.30pm. We will be joined by special guest\, internationally acclaimed organist Jonathan Scott. The concert will feature a cheerful mix of music\, including songs from the West End and Broadway\, music from the movies\, light classical music and contemporary favourites. Admission to the concert will include a complimentary interval drink and there will be a raffle.  \n\n\n\nIn addition to supporting the choir\, proceeds from the concert will provide much needed funds in aid of The Joshua Tree\, a local Cheshire charity that provides support for children who have been affected by childhood cancer\, along with their families. \n\n\n\nFull details can be found at http://www.kelsborrowchoir.org/70th-anniversary-concert/ where tickets can be purchased.
