DESCRIPTION:Tarporley Carnival 2026 is on Saturday 11th July on the field behind the Community Centre (CW6 0AY. Our theme is “Country and Western” and you won’t be disappointed! \n\n\n\nThe afternoon kicks off at 12.30  when The Parade leaves Burton Square\, down the High Street and into Eaton Rd.  As in previous years\, the High Street will be closed to vehicles from 11.30 until the Parade has ended.\nOn the field we have all sorts of stalls\, lots of food\, and plenty to drink –  beer\, cider\, prosecco\, soft drinks\, tea or coffee\, just take your choice. \n\n\n\nOn stage\, there’s a full programme of musical entertainment through the afternoon\, culminating with Andrea Pattison headlining as Dolly Parton. \n\n\n\nWristbands are on sale this Saturday morning from our pop-up stall near Coast on the High Street (cards accepted) or or (cash only please) from: Reva Green (75 High St)\, The Vintage Charity Shop (105C High Street)\, and The Post Office.  Adults still £5 each\, under 16’s get in free! \n\n\n\nUnfortunately\, only assistance dogs can be permitted on the field. Feel free to bring your own comfy chairs\, we never have enough for everybody! \n\n\n\nWe’re really grateful to our sponsors – Barlows\, Cliff Dickenson\, Tarporley Parish Council & The Foresters  Arms – without their support we wouldn’t be able to make the Carnival happen

SUMMARY:Folksongs and Fancies - Light-hearted songs for summer with Nantwich Singers
DESCRIPTION:On Sunday 28th June at 3pm we are delighted to be performing at the beautiful and historic church of St Alban’s\, Tattenhall. There will be an interval with tea and cakes\, and a chance to look around the church and surrounding gardens. Tickets (£12.50 in advance\, £14 on the door) are available from www.ticketsource.com/nantwich-singers\, from Tattenhall Post Office\, and from the church itself. \n\n\n\nOur summer concerts celebrate the rich heritage of folksong attaching to the joy of summer\, which is so often infused with more than a hint of melancholy. From the exuberance of Aaron Copland’s Ching-a-Ring Chaw to the shimmering magical yearning of James Macmillan’s The Gallant Weaver; and the lyrical beauty of Sarah Quartel’s How can I keep from singing to George Gershwin’s sultry Summertime\, also included are two beautiful pieces especially written for the Nantwich Singers.  \n\n\n\nBen Parry composed his buoyant\, ever-joyful version of Westering Home for the Singers in 2022. And our own resident composer\, Alison Hendricken\, has created a charmingly fresh arrangement of Robert Burns’s famous poem\, A red\, red rose\, enjoying its première.  \n\n\n\nAlso included in the programme are works encompassing moods of love\, wonder\, joy and nostalgia by Lucy Walker\, Eleanor Daley\, John Rutter\, Gustav Holst\, Ralph Vaughan Williams\, and Gordon Lightfoot. \n\n\n\nA programme guaranteed to lift the heart and spirit!
