Their work brings raw\, authentic lived experience to the stage\, breaking down stigma and celebrating personal resilience through striking physical storytelling.   \n\n\n\nCrafted over six months of collaboration between the dancers and creative team\, Holding Light explores light as both a dynamic partner on stage and a metaphor for recovery\, hope\, and personal awakening. The evening weaves together three distinct creative perspectives. Acclaimed choreographer Russell Maliphant brings his signature mastery of light and movement\, making illumination an active collaborator with the dancers. International dance artist Alice Godfrey offers a rich\, emotive exploration of body\, space\, and personal transformation\, while sound artist Feri Gyemant frames every movement with an immersive and emotionally charged soundscape.   \n\n\n\nAuthentic\, moving\, and uplifting\, Holding Light invites audiences to witness stories that are often unseen\, offering a deeply memorable evening of dance\, hope and healing.

The festival welcomes families\, neighbours and visitors from Macclesfield and surrounding areas to come together and celebrate the diversity that enriches our town. \n\n\n\nIn the lead‑up to the main event\, we’re hosting two free African cultural workshops at St Peter’s Church\, Windmill Street — on Thursday 13th August and Tuesday 1st September\, both at 4pm. SUMMARY:Cheshire Walking Festival 2027
DESCRIPTION:The first Cheshire Walking Festival is coming to Alderley Edge on Saturday 3 April 2027\, and bookings are already open. \n\n\n\nOrganised by Guided Outdoor Adventuring CIC\, a Sport England and National Lottery funded Community Interest Company based in Alderley Edge\, the festival features eight guided walks for all ages and abilities\, all starting and finishing at the festival headquarters at the De Trafford Arms on Congleton Road. \n\n\n\nWalks range from a £5 beginner walk to the twelve-mile Barry Clark Challenge Walk at £25\, named in memory of Barry Clark\, father of festival founder Julia Hartley\, who spent twenty-five years leading walks for HF Holidays across the UK and abroad. \n\n\n\nThe festival raises money for Christie’s Cancer Charity\, Cheshire Search and Rescue\, and Guided Outdoor Adventuring CIC\, and has been supported by Alderley Edge Parish Council with a £500 community grant.
